Although infection with the new coronavirus is oligosymptomatic in most patients, some individuals progress to se-vere acute respiratory syndrome. In view of thehomeostatic and immunological changes during pregnancy, it is questioned whether thisinfection is more deleterious in pregnant women and whether there is any specificapproach in this group. This work is a narrative review, in order to carry out atheoretical study on the subject from the existing scientific production. As a database,we used PUBMED, applying the descriptors pregnancy AND COVID-19, selectin-garticles published in 2021. We interpreted the exposed data and cataloged them into fourthemes: COVID-19: clini-cal manifestations and maternal outcomes, COVID-19 andfetal outcomes, Risk of vertical transmission and Guidance on the management ofpregnant patients with suspected or proven infection. To date, there has been noevidence of a worse outcome in pregnant women with COVID-19 compared to thegeneral population. A higher incidence of prematurity was observed in most studies. Itwas also observed that the minority of neonates infected with SARS-COV-2 requiredintensive support. Regarding vertical transmission, there is still a lack of evidence on itspossibility and probability. Regarding the management of infected pregnant women, thesame support given to the general popula-tion with COVID-19 should be provided.
