Abstract

Cholecystogastric fistula is defined as the communication between the lumen of thegallbladder and the lumen of the gastric chamber. This condition is a rare surgicalpathology. In this article, we describe the case of a 66-year-old fema-le patient admittedto the General Surgery Service with complaints of abdominal pain and distension, associated with decreased gas and stool elimination, black vomit and weight loss. In acomplementary investigation during hospitali-zation, a communicating fistula wasdiagnosed between gastro-cystic lumens. Although cholecystectomy and gastric repairare mainstays of treatment, to date there is no consensus on the ideal approach. Thus, the objective of this article is to report the diagnosis and treatment of an uncommonsurgical pathology, increasing the medical literature on this theme.
