Grief corresponds to a set of physiological reactions to maintain mental health, resulting from a real os abstract loss. Primary health care is responsible for the first contact, longitudinal and comprehensive care for the patient, providing a more complete and human reception, assisting him in understanding the loss, in experiencing and overcoming the bereaved state. The reported case illustrates the importance of empathy and recognition by the Family Heath Strategy team of the pacient's state of suffering, especially during periods of great human loss, such as during the new Coronavirus pandemic.
