Systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease that can affect all organs and tissues in the human body. It has a wide range of clinical manifestations, including neurophysicological manifestations, with neurological manifestations being among the rarest. We present here a case report of acute transverse myelitis secondary to systemic lupus erythematosus. The patient was seen at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Fortaleza/CE (HSCM-FOR/CE) and showed a considerable improvement in the clinical condition and quality of life, demonstrating that the therapeutic resources employed in this case report provided a favorable evolutions of the condition patient's clinical status.
