Pregnancy is a period that brings several changes to women's lives, both bodily and psychologically. The general objective of the scientific essay was to evaluate, through the literature researched, the emotional aspects of pregnant women in the maternity ward. The research problem outlined is: how does psychological prenatal care promote well-being for pregnant women? The data collected was qualitative in nature and the methodological procedure adopted was a systematic bibliographic review. The evidence collected showed that psychological prenatal care contributes to considering the pregnant woman's integral health, providing not only psychological well-being, but also the development of this baby. As a result, psychological support helps this mother to have a better relationship with her baby, thus strengthening the mother/baby bond. It can be concluded that monitoring pregnant women with a psychology professional during pre-natal consultations is extremely important. Obstetric birth, as a way to prevent postpartum depression.
